Becker Township is located in Sherburne County 45 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. The township surrounds the City of Becker, and works closely with the city on planning; they have an Orderly Annexation Agreement in place, and have collaborated to create a unique community vision.

The township’s population is increasing rapidly, and in 2008 Sherburne County was named by CNN’s Money Magazine as the 22nd best county in the nation for job growth. The township is surrounded by lakes, precious natural resources to consider as the township manages this growth.

Becker Township has turned to CGO to help establish long-term funding and implementation tools. Having recently completed its first comprehensive plan, they are looking for assistance to fine-tune that plan and its supporting ordinances. The Township is also looking for ways to better involve its residents, especially those that commute out of the Township, in the process.
