Center City - Planner's Corner

Throughout this year, Center City has been working with Municipal Development Group and the Community Growth Options (CGO) program on developing a Comprehensive Plan for the City. Comprehensive plans are guiding documents outlining a community’s vision for their future.
Communities use comprehensive plans to help develop policies, regulations, and incentive programs which further their citizen’s priorities and interests. At nearly a chapter a month, Center City made fast progress with their plan,

gathering citizen, adjoining municipality, and interested agency input along the way. The plan cover topics such as future land use, natural resource protection, transportation goals, and economic development opportunities, among others.

Interested citizens are invited to an open house on the comprehensive plan on December 14 at 7:00 pm at the Lutheran Church. This event is an opportunity to review and comment on the plan, as well as meet the City Council and Planning Commission members. The City anticipates adopting the plan soon after the first of the year. After adoption, implementation of the plan will begin; making visions and goals into a reality!
