Livonia Township is located in Sherburne County, 40 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. One of the fastest growing communities in the state, the township has already begun to develop a community vision for its future.

Livonia Township is surrounded by natural resources, including the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. Within its boundaries is remnant forest which has been protected from fragmentation; plans are proceeding to create a natural park.

The township has demonstrated a commitment to the goals of CGO, having recently hired the University of Minnesota Center for Rural Design to help develop its community vision, which includes protecting its quality of life, economic vitality and environmental health. CGO will be able to help the township develop and implement its own policies and ordinances.
