Victoria wins clean water award
Minnesota Blue Star Award Honors City’s Efforts To Clean Up Runoff
Victoria, Minnesota — The City of Victoria has received the Minnesota Blue Star Award for its efforts to protect local water quality.
The award, part of a statewide program honoring clean water communities, recognizes the city’s efforts to keep urban runoff pollution from degrading nearby lakes, streams and wetlands.
The award program, sponsored by a partnership between State agencies, watershed districts, engineering firms and non-profit group Friends of the Mississippi River, is designed to measure cities on a wide range of activities, from regulations to education programs to good house keeping measures.
