Afton - Planner's Corner

Afton has been working hard to update their Comprehensive plan and to streamline the internal working processes in the city. Recently they consolidated multiple versions of the subdivision ordinance, and they are reducing the number of forms and complexity of the review process for development. They have extended a tradition of extremely vigorous public debate into a careful discussion about how their public plans and policies help them move into the future.

Afton has also been actively seeking out professional trainings. In addition to attending regular seminars led by their consulting planner, they are collaborating with CGO to create an evening course on advanced planning and zoning issues in growth communities.
